2008 NFL Season Surprises and ShocksThis 2008 NFL season, like so many others, is already full of surprises and a few shocks too. For instance, four minutes into the season, Tom Brady got season-ending knee injury. All of a sudden, Patriots tickets were a heck of lot cheaper. However, Matt Cassell, the Pats’ backup quarterback has stepped up and done a decent job so far. It’s hard to imagine that Cassell was a back up all through college too which meant that before he recently started for the Patriots, his last football start was in High School! Another shocker is Brett Favre on the New York Jets. In this case the opposite is true and New York Jets tickets are going for a premium so far this season. Favre has been doing fairly decent so far and believe it or not the person he replaced, Chad Pennington, is playing well for the Dolphins. At the time of this writing, the Tennessee Titans are 7-0. Now that is something not many could have predicted. Jeff Fisher is definitely one of the premier head coaches in the NFL, and this year he is doing a fantastic job, just look at that record. Finally, what happened to the Colts? They are now 3-4 and look like a second-rate teams lately. Manning is struggling and so are his receivers. They may not even get into the playoffs this 2008 football season if they keep playing the way they have. The Chargers aren’t looking all that great either this season. With former NFL players out of work or worse, appearing on So You Think You Can Dance, making it to the playoffs is very important indeed.
