Sam Bradford in American Football NFL

During the first game of the 2009 season it seemed that Sam Bradford had hit a bum note and would not be getting a spectacular career. He injured his throwing shoulder in that first game and some commentators were convinced that this might be the beginning of the end. In the event he has managed to make a good comeback and it appears that the early skepticism was over enthusiastic in its willingness to condemn him to oblivion.  Injuries are normally the precursor to retirement and sometimes journalists forget that some players have remarkable abilities to recover even from the most serious injuries.
Bradford was the star of the NFL draft at the St Louis Rams derby. He was quite rightly picked as the best player of that season. At the rather plush ceremony he was named as the overall top pick from a group of players that had quite a bit of gravitas. Clearly the injury has not done him too much bad. The ecstatic player declared that this was a dream come true and that he was honored to be part of the draft. One can only wait to see how well he performs in the circumstances. The savvy observers expect that he will at least match the forty million contracts that were signed by Mathew Stafford and this must get his accountants smiling at the prospect of such a lucrative deal.
The decision to return to Oklahoma was due in part to the desire to get that much coveted national title instead of getting the money bucks after the spectacular 2008 campaign that saw him creep to the top of his game. At that time he seemed at the peak of his powers and even managed to get an astonishing fifty touchdowns with just eight interceptions. These are records that would make any veteran proud of their achievements.
The injury led to surgery and rehabilitative therapy that seems to have worked some sort of miracle. In fact some say that his throwing arm is now much stronger than before. The NFL scouts are convinced of his potential and the sport is watching to see how he progresses.
