Quarterback training
With the NFL in a lockout, football players are trying to cope with staying in playing conditions with no trainers, coaches, or facilities available. Washington Redskins quarterback player, Donovan McNabb is throwing ball with numerous Arizona Cardinals in Phoenix at a camp conducted by Larry Fitzgerald. New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez is conducting a camp in Mission Viejo. He is organizing the camp with coach and quarterback expert Bob Johnson and his son, Rob, who is a former NFL quarterback player. Sanchez is playing an active role in grooming Jets West by organizing additional social get together as well.
San Francisco 49ers
Amongst all the repositioning happening within the NFL teams, the biggest surprise is the choice of Colin Kaepernick as the 49ers quarterback player, who has been selected by the team’s head coach, Jim Harbaugh. Prior to his selection as head coach of the 49ers, Harbaugh trained Andrew Luck who was the Stanford quarterback player. Luck would have been Harbaugh’s choice for the position of 49ers quarterback if Luck had not decided to remain in school. However, because of the lockout, Jim Harbaugh is banned from training Kaepernick. Therefore, the twenty-three year old quarterback is set to be coached by the youngest coach, the twenty-one year old Andrew Luck. The 21-year old quarterback player, Luck is presently scheduled to complete his educational degree in the spring of 2012. Post graduating, Andrew Luck will appear more appealing to the NFL selectors when Luck decides to apply for the draft.
Kaepernick to maximize his learning
Colin Kaepernick is looking ahead to be coached by Andrew Luck and is stated to have said that he shall try to get a head start by learning the maximum possible from his “coach”. Kaepernick is soon planning to move to Santa Clara to be near his team, 49ers headquarters. With this shifting, Kaepernick will be only located only at a fifteen minute drive from Luck. The 49ers’ training is restricted to weight room due to the lockout. However, this will soon change as players organize their own small training camps.
