Cardinals Looking To Resign Fitzgerald

Arizona Cardinals are making all efforts to sign in wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald to their team for the 2011-12 NFL championships. The forthcoming championship is said to be the last one in which Fitzgerald will be appearing before he announces retirement from the big team. Talks with Fitzgerald will commence the following week and Arizona’s General Manager Rod Graves is hopeful to see him play in their opening encounter of NHL championship on September 11th. Graves has gone on record saying that the team wants Fitzgerald to bow out of the game as an Arizona Cardinals player. Hence, they are all the more ready to make him the highest paid player in the history of NFL and the team.
Fitzgerald broke into the NFL scene as a rookie for the first time in 2004 playing for Arizona Cardinals. He said that the team’s recent signing spree has in fact made him feel good about the team. Fitzgerald also is of the opinion to sign off his NFL career as a Cardinal Player. He feels like Arizona Cardinals is his home. He feels that the signing amount and other details are for the coach Whiz and manager Graves to decide. All he is focusing on is to take the Arizona team to greater heights this season. Fitzgerald is quite aware of his value as a player and he is the final year of his four year contract of $40 million which includes a guaranteed amount of $30 million. He is now on the fringe of signing a third major contract before he attains 30 years. Despite featuring on a 5-11 campaign last year, he was able to top 1,000 yards receiving for the sixth time in his eight NFL stints.

The Cardinals have signed Kelvin Kolb into their team with the sole objective of partnering with Fitzgerald for better touchdown opportunities. Their off field relationship is a very strong one and the Cardinals feel that if they both get going in the upcoming season, the team will be a major threat to different champion teams this season. Both Kolb and Fitzgerald take active participation in the team meetings. If everything goes according to the plan of the Cardinals, the thought of watching Kolb and Fitzgerald playing together in a long-term partnership will become a reality. This will also boast the chances of the Arizona Cardinals team in the forthcoming NHL season.
