Packers Favored to Win Super Bowl XLVII

When you look at the football betting odds for next season you will find the Green Bay Packers as the early favorites to win Super Bowl XLVII. The Packers finished with the best regular season record last season but were bounced out of the playoffs by the eventual Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants.

Super Bowl Favorites

There are three teams getting the bulk of the action in Super Bowl futures heading into next season. They are the Packers, Patriots and Saints. What about the defending champion New York Giants you ask? They are listed with double-digit football betting odds. The Packers, Patriots and Saints are the only three teams with single-digit odds. It is easy to understand why, as the Packers have league MVP Aaron Rodgers, the Patriots have Tom Brady and the Saints have record setting quarterback Drew Brees.

Super Bowl Contenders

You can put a lot of teams into the category of contenders to win next year’s Super Bowl. And based on recent history, one of these teams could definitely win it all. Preseason favorites haven’t won the Super Bowl in recent seasons so it could be that one of the teams in this next group will win it all next season. To be a contender a team really has to have odds of less than 20-1. Anything more than that and they are considered a longshot. Teams that are contenders for next season are that are not the three favorites we previously mentioned are the Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers, Detroit Lions, New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons.

Just Out of the Mix

Teams just on the fringe of being contenders are the Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers and Cincinnati Bengals.

Longshots

The longshots for next season are the Oakland Raiders, Tennessee Titans, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills, St. Louis Rams, Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Hopeless

The two teams that look to have almost no chance of winning the Super Bowl next season are the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars as each team is listed with odds of 100-1 or more.

Super Bowl XLVII, or Super Bowl 47 if you want to ignore the Roman numerals, will be played at the Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, February 3, 2013.
